Independent Documentary Production
with Strategic Narrative Focus
Archipelago Productions is an independent boutique production company based on the North Fork of Long Island, founded by documentary producer and director Thomas Halaczinsky.

Rooted in long-form nonfiction storytelling, we develop and produce documentary films and purpose-driven narrative projects for cultural institutions, foundations, and select brand partners. Our work is grounded in strong narrative storytelling and a commitment to films that carry social and cultural resonance.

In addition to original documentary productions, we collaborate with organizations seeking thoughtful, cinematic storytelling that moves beyond content toward meaning. Each project is approached selectively and developed in close creative partnership from concept through completion.

Pre-Production
“Let’s talk about it”: That’s how we start. Whether it is a short video for social media or a long-term documentary, we invest in research and relationships to develop ideas that stand out. For commercial clients, we offer a free consultation before the work starts, walking them through each step of the process.
What We Do
Production
Planning is the most important aspect of production. Whether the task is to shoot on moving boats or in a race car, we leave nothing to chance when planning a day of filming. On location, we work with a team of award winning camera, sound, and production pros to ensure the highest level of quality.
Post-Production
“We’ll fix that in post”, is something you won’t hear from us. Instead, postproduction is where we enhance what we captured on video. From audio to color correction, everything is meticulously designed to serve the creative ideas behind each project.
